Known Crewmember Expansion Benefits Pilots and Public

TSA has recently opened new Known Crewmember (KCM) lanes at airports in Las Vegas, New York, Detroit and Chicago.  KCM is a program which screens authorized airline personnel, like pilots, using a technologically modern and more efficient screening process.  The program is expected to expand to 31 airports by November.  KCM isn’t just great for pilots, it also helps consumers by reducing backlogs at checkpoints and enhancing security by promoting efficient use of TSA resources.  ALPA collaborated with TSA in the development of the KCM program, and also supports the expansion of risk-based “trusted traveller” passenger screening programs to further improve the flying experience for the travelling public.
